The Hellenic Powerlifting Association carried out another environmental sports activity, within the framework of the Erasmus+ European program, For Sustainable Environment Nature Sports - SENS. The specific action concerned training and realization of cycling in the countryside. Almost forty athletes of all ages, together with their coaches and trainers, attended multi-day seminars and became familiar with sports in nature, through cycling.

The hosts of the training and activity were the Leros Bike & Fun Academy, with Cycling Instructor and Vice-President Mr. Fanouris Kontogiorgakis, who in collaboration with HPA officials organized the program.

The academy was created in 2021 by the cycling athlete Kontoiorgakis Fanourios and vice president of the Leros cycling group with the aim of allowing the children of the island to get to know the world of cycling and not only as they do various activities such as tree planting, cleaning beaches and forest areas and other environmental awareness actions . In 2023 came the creation of the first equipped bicycle store Leros bikes cycling store which supports the academy and which has to do with cycling activities on the island such as electric bicycle tours for our guests, a historical tour of the island by bicycle, and several routes in Mountain. It also organizes races, bike/E-bike rentals and service.

ESDT will complete the SENS program in about a month, with an Orienteering event, which we will also present.
